The first time we see Stefan in 1x01 he’s jumping off the roof of the Salvatore mansion. He decides he no longer wants to hide alone in the shadows, he feels he has to know Elena. In 4x01 we see Stefan and Elena on that same roof. Together. Stefan is no longer alone. He has found Elena.
They have finally found each other.
